What I loved about Health, Society & Policy was choosing from a variety of classes in different departments that would best help me in my future career. The classes I took taught me a lot about the social, economic, and environmental determinants of health. I also learned about how our health care system works.
My goal is to one day go to medical school and practice in underserved communities. Being a first-generation student from a low-income household, I understand the struggle that these communities face. I decided to major in Health, Society & Policy so that I can better understand the underlying caues that lead to health disparities in the U.S. and strategies that can be implemented to address the problem.
